Playing with Logwood

The printing flowers in my garden are mostly done, and the leaves are currently giving dull prints. As a result, I’ve been spending some time in my studio playing with logwood! Logwood is a natural dye that has been prized for centuries for its rich purple and blue hues.

I did a bit of overdying on silk I’d previously printed, combining the leaf resist with plum tones.

I also upcycled some natural fiber clothes. The color took on a blueish cast after drying.
